New social shopping platform Prismpop has raised $5 million in total seed funding to help consumers discover what to buy

Prismpop’s social shopping platform aims to amplify the creation and sharing of women’s lifestyle content so consumers can be equipped with authentic insights from the shopping community while learning what to buy online.

Prismpop is led by CEO and Founder, Peggie Lia Bytedance (known for ICT Tac) alumni who established their North American presence as the first American member. Previously, she held senior digital media positions at Maker Studios (acquired by Disney), AwesomenessTV (acquired by Dreamworks), Leaf Group, Fox Networks and Sony Pictures.

“We want to give consumers reliable information to make online purchasing decisions that they can feel confident in,” says the CEO of Prismpop. Peggie Li. “From the world of cosmetics to fashion to fitness, our goal is to provide personalized content and community interaction that inspires consumers to embrace an evolved way of shopping. It’s shopping and sharing with friends reinvented.”

The Prismpop team is joined by members from industry-leading apps such as Grindr and ICT Tacas well as co-founder and content manager Maggie Knoxformerly of Awesomeness TV/NBCUniversal, a multi-channel network focused on teen female content.
