Ten pounds of lukewarm chicken were thrown under the direction of a health inspector at an Indian Diamond Bar restaurant where “an accumulation” of dead cockroaches was found.

A Los Angeles County public health inspector visited Peacock Gardens Cuisine Of India & Banquet Hall, 23347 E. Golden Springs Drive in Diamond Bar on January 8. A report filed with the county says cooked chicken was measured at 61 degrees, when it should have been 135 degrees or greater or 45 degrees or less.

The Inspector also noticed one or more live cockroaches crawling on the support of the kitchen food work container and an accumulation of dead cockroaches on the floor behind the kitchen equipment.

The restaurant was rated 84 and closed. It was cleared to reopen on January 10.

Facilities are noted with a number and a letter, much like report cards. If a food facility is closed for a cockroach, rodent or fly infestation, sewer issues or for not having running water, the facility loses an additional seven points in addition to the four points deducted for major infractions. to health.
