Levcor enters College Station with shopping center acquisitions

Levcor, a Houston-based commercial real estate owner, operator and developer with properties in Texas and North Carolina, has expanded into College Station with the acquisition of two shopping centers near Texas A&M University.

“We are very pleased to expand our Texas portfolio into the rapidly growing city of College Station,” said Larry Levine, president of Levcor, in a statement. “As a Texas A&M graduate, acquiring these two properties in my alma mater city and enhancing them with new retailers and restaurants continues to increase the city’s national profile.”

Levcor has acquired Texas Avenue Crossing, an 87,000 square foot center at 1416 Texas Avenue South anchored by Bed Bath & Beyond. Upcoming tenants include Total Wine & More and Boot Barn.

University Park, a 97,000-square-foot, 9.2-acre shopping center at 601 University Drive, is anchored by grocer HEB, which has a lease through April 2023. Levcor says it’s assessing the needs of the neighborhood and of the community to determine the best options for the property.

“The acquisition of these two properties allows us to introduce exciting new dining, retail and entertainment concepts to local communities,” said Justin Levine, senior vice president at Levcor.

Proximity to campus and accessibility of the property were part of the decision to invest in the property and the neighborhood, according to Levcor.

Founded in 1980, Levcor has developed, owned and managed over 25 million square feet of real estate across the United States
