3 Arrested Following Brawl At Old Pasadena Bar – Pasadena Now
Police arrested three people, including a father and son, on suspicion of assault following a brawl at a bar in Old Pasadena early Saturday, authorities said.
Police responded at around 2 a.m. to a report of about 20 fighters at Der Wolf, 71 N. Fair Oaks Ave., said Lt. Anthony Burgess of the Pasadena Police Department.
They arrived to find several injured people and took testimony from witnesses.
It was determined that the three suspects had entered into an argument, which escalated into an alleged assault against two men who worked at the bar, as well as a woman, according to Burgess. At least one of the victims was kicked in the head during the scuffle.
One of the victims, a 29-year-old employee, was hospitalized with visible injuries and pain in his head, neck and shoulders, Burgess said. The second victim employee, described as a 26-year-old man, had a rash on his face but refused medical treatment. The woman injured in the alleged assault had a swollen eye and bleeding from the mouth, but also did not want to be taken to hospital.
Ariel Guzman, 41, of Santa Fe Springs, Ariel Guzman Jr., 21, of Brea and Matthew Murillo, 26, of Brea were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the booking records of the Los Angeles County and Police Department.
Murillo was treated for a cut to his eyelid and young Guzman was treated for a broken nose before the booking, Burgess said. Elder Guzman suffered abrasions but refused medical treatment.
Police noted the smell of pepper spray in the facility during the scuffle investigation, but it is not known who sprayed it.
The three suspects were released pending legal proceedings after posting bail of $ 50,000 each, records show.
